Back Yard Growing Experiments

Having skipped a year of gardening, I finally got back to it this year, and wanted to share some of my experiences. I have photos to show, and questions to pose, ideas to relate and theories to tell, or prove.

My garden has two main areas; one is an old compost pile I raked open and planted, and the second is a new plot that lacked much biological activity at all. The first area has a history of growing the second was grassless patch of "dirt" until June 2006.

Here's a photo I took on July 24 2006: that's my six year old son posing between potatoes and tomatoes, with the peppers in the foreground. This is the garden growing in the "new soil" where previously there was just "dirt".
